A Summary of the July
APMSA HOD Conference

The APMSA House of Delegates
was held in July of 2022 in
Orlando, Florida. The meeting
coincided with APMA's National
Conference and allowed APMSA's
delegates to interact with
podiatric doctors, organizations,
and companies showcasing
the promise of the profession
in wound care, dermatology,
biomechanics, surgery, and
research, to name a few. APMSA's
HOD holds two conferences: one
in the summer, and one in the
2022 APMSA House of Delegates
winter. The Summer conference
addressed several topics such
as resolutions regarding the
appointed executive director,
Ms. Marit Sivertson, JD, feedback
regarding Part I and II of the
NBPME Boards, and panels
on Clerkships and Board
Certification. On the last day
of the conference, three students
were awarded the Leadership
Award, the Outstanding
Achievement Award, and the
Student of the Year Award.
A slight, but important, deviation
must be made. The July conference
began by welcoming all the
President-Elects of each podiatric
college. This was their first
conference, and all have already
made a vast impact in their
proactive attitudes and willingness
to absorb vast amounts of
information. APMSA thanks all
the Presidents for offering great
mentorship to their PresidentElects.
APMSA looks forward to
the wonderful milestones that
