resident. In the weeks leading up to interviews, you are
also tasked with studying for the APMLE Part 2 exam, all
boards, and interviews. Mock interviews are one of the best
ways to prepare for cases during interviews.
Social questions are
arguably just as important
as academic questions,
and here's why: they are
a chance for you to give
interviewers something
unique to remember you by.

while being on a clerkship. Your time management skills
and ability to focus in a time of immense stress will be
tested. But as I mentioned before, while I strongly believe
that your mentality is your strongest ally, it can also be your
biggest detriment. I decided early on that I would have the
mentality that I was going to do well, that my preparation
will be sufficient, and that I will go into boards and
interviews with no regrets.
For those wanting the specifics of how my friends and I

One of my favorite strategies was meeting with friends via
Zoom and going through case workups in a systematic manner
like we would during an actual interview: CC, HPI, PE, vitals,
labs, imaging, treatment plan. There are nuances for each type
of case and you will learn that with time, but going through
these cases in an orderly fashion is very important. Rapid fire
is also good to practice, and you can find practice for that on
the PrePodiatryStudy website as well. A lot of times you can
compile things you've been asked on externships and that will
help you zero in on certain things. In terms of social questions,
PRISM is the holy grail. Some of these questions might seem
quite random, but I can tell you that you should be prepared
for just about anything from " teach me something in 30
seconds " to " what is your biggest failure in the past 5 years " to
" what surgical instrument describes you best " and everything
in between. As I mentioned before, social questions are
arguably just as important as academic questions, and here's
why: they are a chance for you to give interviewers
something unique to remember you by. Anyone can
remember the 5 causes of postoperative fever, but not everyone
has studied abroad for a semester and went through a path
of self-discovery, or had a character-defining family hardship,
