Celebrating Our One Year
Anniversary

February 2022 marked the one year anniversary of the
foundation of the APMSA Communications Committee.
During the celebration, the Executive Board proposed
new ways to increase student representation in future
publications. The Communications Committee published
the first Footnotes magazine in July, 2022. Soon after,
the Footnotes Executive Board was officially established:
Committee Chair: Raissa Chiri-Zarzosa (CSPM '24),
Student Contact: Jeneen Elagha (TUSPM '24), Committee
Secretary: Mark Gabriel (TUSPM '25), Board Member:
Stephani Cadar (DMU-CPMS '25).
The Board would also like to welcome a new Executive
Board Member, Madalyn Werd, Class of 2026 APMSA
Delegate at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine
(BUSPM). With Ms. Werd's insights, the Executive Board
will expand its representation of the podiatric student
experience. APMSA would like to have representation from
every podiatric school on the APMSA Communications
Committee. 1st and 2nd year students were recently
encouraged to apply to serve as student body members on
the committee.
The mission of APMSA's Footnotes remains the same:
a news source made by podiatric students for podiatric
students. It has been a joy to release this magazine and
feature the amazing talents and perspectives of podiatric
students. On behalf of the APMSA Communications
Committee, thank you for coming along on this journey
with us for the past year. We look forward to seeing how
Footnotes will continue to blossom.
