are still growing, this fact is especially true. By providing
new athletic shoes, children are more empowered to
participate in sports, engage with peers without fear of
being mocked, and concentrate better in class. My hope
is for this work to become an annual event at the Arizona
College of Podiatric Medicine. I would like to thank
APMSA for making service grants available so students
like myself, empowering us to help make a difference in
our community.
Organizing this event was a four-month-long
process, with support from the CSPM deans and
administration. We are grateful for the support
from Dr. Eric Stamps, Dr. Cherri Choate, Dr.
David Tran, Ms. Debbie Haynes-Muhammad, and
Ms. Jeanie Lau. Also, this event would not have
been possible without outstanding speakers
representing residency programs from across the
country. The entire CSPM student body is
exceptionally grateful for all the speakers who
took time out of their busy schedules to interact
with us and educate us about the residency
journey ahead.
Finally, I am thankful to the APMSA for providing a
generous education grant, which transformed this
event from a passion project to an actualized
event that served the CSPM Student Body. It is my
hope that we can continue to transition back to inperson
events such as this one, which would
greatly benefit students and allow us to think
beyond our four years in school.
