college, I played soccer, and I saw many teammates suffer from
ankle sprains, turf toes, and Achilles injuries. This combination
of sports and foot/ankle issues made me realize that podiatry
could be a perfect fit for me. After playing professional soccer
for about two years, I decided to pursue a career in podiatry. I
attended the California School of Podiatric Medicine, which
later transitioned to Touro University in Vallejo and then to
Samuel Merritt University. I recently started teaching lower
extremity anatomy to first-year students at Samuel Merritt
University this past October.
Q. Balancing multiple roles can be challenging. How
do you manage your duties as a residency director,
practicing physician, and team podiatrist?
It definitely requires a lot of organization and passion. The
key is being able to handle stressful situations efficiently and
maintaining a high level of energy and motivation. It's all
about passion for podiatry and ensuring that our patients
