A PROCESS OF TEAMWORK:
SOLUTION IDENTIFICATION THROUGH SUCCESSFUL INSTALLATION
Synthetex engineers worked closely with the team to
design and customize HYDROTEX® fabric formwork
panels to the project's exact specifi cations, taking into
account hydraulic information, survey data, expected
weather conditions, required hardware, and any other
design considerations required for a successful installation.
Synthetex provided onsite technical training and
demonstrations to guarantee proper installation by local
contractors, making sure that the formwork was placed
according to specifi cations, eliminating the risk of errors
due to confusion or misinterpretation.
As seen in these shots, taken fi ve years
apart, there has been no observable erosion
or structural changes since the installation of
the HYDROTEX Filter Point system in 2018, despite a
fl ooding event in 2021 that approached the design limits
of the structure. This demonstrates that Synthetex® brand
fabric frameworks offer a truly permanent solution to
potential erosion and scouring.
Filter Point Concrete Linings have a
cobbled surface and a relatively high
coeffi cient of hydraulic friction in
order to achieve ower fl ow velocities
and to reduce wave run-up. The
fi ltration points provide for the relief of
hydrostatic uplift pressures, increasing
the system's stability.
