ith this issue, Geosynthetics magazine begins a new journey. The
Geosynthetics staff has spent the last year talking to our readers
to find out what they like about the magazine and how we can improve.
Working with the editorial advisory board, industry leaders and knowledge
experts, the Geosynthetics team will soon be rolling out some exciting
improvements to the magazine. We'll be delivering the content the readers
have told us they want to see.

Here is what you can expect in the coming months:
With this July issue we present our Annual Applications Issue. Inside you'll
find articles that delve into innovative applications projects where specific
geosynthetic products were used. We'll also seek to answer not only why
these products are important but also why they were required or necessary
for each application. It's important to realize that some projects could not
be built without geosynthetics. Many projects are not built because the cost
to build them at a specific location is too high but because geosynthetics
make these projects attainable from an engineering and/or cost standpoint.
We also realize that not many people know how to install geosynthetics
despite knowing about the products that are used. Our hope is that these
articles shed more light on this aspect of each project.
Our October Design/Installation Issue will focus on how and why
particular products were designed, how they are being used and how they
were installed. Features will include the latest innovations as well as a look
at different design methodologies and model decisions. Next spring, the
New Products Issue will debut, becoming the new home for our annual
Premier Product Showcase. This issue will also feature expanded articles
about new products, innovations and emerging technologies in the geosynthetics
world.
The popular Specifier's Guide will return in December packed as
always with product data for geotextiles, geomembranes, geogrids,
drainage materials, geosynthetic clay liners, erosion control and geocells.
I hope you will join us as we begin this new chapter!
