Motor Vehicle and Records
Vehicle Registration
The Motor Vehicle Division titles and registers motor vehicles, issues disability placards, and
renews vehicle registrations for Boulder County residents. In recent years, in order to reduce
wait times for the public, Boulder County Motor Vehicle moved to an appointments-only
system for in-person visits (with exceptions for emergencies). Additionally, annual vehicle
registration/license plate renewals need to be completed out of office. Convenient options
include online, by mail or drop box, or at a self-service kiosk. For more information and to

Marriage/Real Estate Records
The Recording Division issues and records marriage licenses and civil unions. The Division
also records real estate documents, such as warranty deeds, deeds of trust, quit claim
deeds, liens, and subdivision plats for public notice. To make space for growing election
operations, the Recording team works almost 100% remote.

Boulder County Solar Co-op
Residents and businesses interested in rooftop solar can join Boulder County's recordbreaking
solar co-op. This program is free to join and offers vendor-neutral expertise, facilitates
competitively priced installations, and provides educational resources. Members can benefit
from 10-20% savings compared to market rates and make informed decisions with unbiased
