Woody Shiflett has engaged in refining catalysis and technologies for some 42 years, holding a
variety of positions in Shell, Criterion, CRI, Chevron, and ART Hydroprocessing that encompassed
sales and sales management, technical services and technical services management, marketing
management, joint venture enterprise management, R&D innovation, and R&D management. Prior
to forming his consulting company Blue Ridge Consulting, he was Chevron's senior managing
director for the ART Hydroprocessing joint venture and subsequently managed all of Chevron's
applied R&D activities for the downstream segment including renewable fuels catalysis, base oil
hydroprocessing, residue upgrading, and hydrocracking. He holds a BSChE from the University
of Akron, a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and an MBA from Texas
A&M University. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, cycling, kayaking, hiking, and writing poetry.
