BASF Expands its Biomass Balance Portfolio
for Selected Chemical Intermediates
Their updated portfolio now includes BMBCert™
1,4-butanediol (BDO), tetra hydrofuran (THF), polytetrahydrofuran
(PolyTHF®) and 3-(di methyl amino)pro pyl amine
(DMAPA). With new regional certifications obtained, BASF
will be able to distribute these fossil-based raw material
replacement products, aimed at supporting customer
sustainability goals by reducing their cradle-to-gate carbon

Singapore's Sembcorp to Export Green
Ammonia from its Indian Facility to Japan
Sembcorp Green Hydrogen Pte. Ltd. will utilize its plant in
India to produce 200,000 metric tonnes per annum of green
ammonia using renewable energy to support their deal with
two Japanese firms, Sojitz Corporation and Kyushu Electric
Power Co. Inc. The future site land for the facility has been
secured. " This project brings together three IPEF (IndoPacific
Economic Framework) members - Japan, Singapore
and India - in a cross-border collaboration aimed at
accelerating the development of a low-carbon supply chain
and advancing the region's transition to a clean economy. "

Energy Transfer Expands Permian Presence
with $3.25B Acquisition of WTG Midstream
The deal is expected to close in Q3 2024, comprised of
$2.45B in cash and approximately 50.8 million newly issued
Energy Transfer shares. The intent is expansion of their
transportation and processing network in the largest US
oil shale patch, the Permian Basin. WTG's assets include
two plants currently under construction, as well as a 6,000mi
pipeline network that serves the Midland Basin and
eight processing plants with a total capacity of 1.3 Bft3
d.
The acquisition also includes a 20% interest in the BANGL
Pipeline, a roughly 425-mi natural gas pipeline which
connects the Permian Basin to Texas Gulf Coast Markets.

TotalEnergies, IOC Ink Long Term LNG
Supply Deal
This sales and purchase agreement (SPA) between
TotalEnergies and Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) will supply
India with up to 800,000 tons per year of liquefied natural
gas (LNG) for ten years beginning in 2026. TotalEnergies
also announced an agreement with Korea South-East
Power to deliver approximately 500,000 tons per year of
LNG for five years beginning in 2027 to South Korea. " These
contracts enable us to contribute to the energy security and
transition of these countries, to which we have an enduring
commitment, " stated Mr. Gregory Joffroy, Senior Vice

US DuPont to Separate Electronics and
Water Businesses
The US based specialty chemicals producer announced
their intent to separate their business into " three strong,
industry-leading companies, " stated DuPont CEO Ed
Breen. The electronics and water businesses will become
two publicly traded companies. Most of the businesses
will remain within Industrial Solutions, and DuPont will
retain the Water & Protection segment apart from Water
Solutions, as that business will be included under the
new water company. The new electronics company will
include Semiconductor Solutions and Advanced Electronics

Nouryon Obtains ISCC PLUS Certification
for Green Ethylene Oxide, Ethanolamines,
and Ethylene Amines, Enabling the
Production of More Sustainable Surfactants
The International Sustainability and Carbon Certification
(ISCC) Plus certification allows Nouryon, a leader in global
production of ethylene amines and surfactants, to produce
green ethylene oxide, ethanolamines, ethylene amines
and surfactants derived from these raw materials, better
serving their customers with solutions that will lower their
carbon footprints. This comes after a recent company
announcement for the launch of green monochloroacetic

BASF Sells Bioenergy Enzymes Business
to Lallemand
The Lallemand Biofuels & Distilled Spirits (LBDS) business
unit is committed to the fuel ethanol and alcohol industries.
After acquiring BASF's bioenergy enzymes business, they
are better positioned to create new growth opportunities
for their global customer base. LBDS has been a partner to
" BASF's bioenergy business since 2017, jointly developing
the expression of gluco and alpha amylase enzymes
in bioengineered yeast, now widely used in the North
American ethanol production market, " as reported in this

Polyolefins Compounding Line in Belgium
This cutting-edge line in Belgium, along with Borealis'
recent acquisitions of Italian recycling firm, Rialti, and
Bulgarian recycling firm, Integra, demonstrate the
company's commitment to accelerate the transformation
to a circular economy for plastics. Borealis' proprietary
Borcycle M technology will be utilized to transform
mechanically recycled post-consumer waste into highquality
rigid polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE)
materials, thereby supplying their customers with valueadded
recycled plastics for their product lines with no
