ECHO AT FOELLINGER
AUDITORIUM
Anchoring the South end of the Quad,
Foellinger Auditorium, dedicated in 1907, is one of
the most iconic buildings on campus. As you head
to the stairs leading to the auditorium, you'll find a
plaque on the ground centered on the Quad. Step
on the plaque and speak and you'll hear your words
echoed back to you, but only you as the speaker will
be able to hear it. Impress your walking partner with
this auditory wonder as you wander the campus.

THE CHIMES AT
ALTGELD HALL
Turning 100 years in 2020, the
chimes of Altgeld Hall have
been entertaining students and
visitors with sounds of " Hail to
the Orange " in daily, afternoon
concerts. Chime masters show
off their skills in playing the 15
bells showcasing a wide variety
of songs to passers-by and
during concerts throughout
the year.
