Rich in creativity, the artists of the ChampaignUrbana
area fill our galleries with pieces that we
can't resist. Visit these spots to discover the range of
talent in our community and bring home something
truly unique to admire for years to come.
Cinema Gallery
Cinema Gallery-Over 50 artists are represented at this gallery
in downtown Urbana. Whether you're looking for a large statement
piece or sculpture that is sure to start conversations, they'll have
a piece that calls to you.
Giertz Gallery at Parkland College-This teaching gallery
serving Parkland College students showcases impressive
displays throughout the year, highlighting up-and-coming artists,
faculty, and a range of solo and group exhibitions ideal for
discovering someone new.
The Gilbert Gallery-Local artists of all mediums have found
a home at this downtown Urbana gallery, where you can not
only shop, but also participate in classes and special events to
immerse yourself in the local art scene.
The Vault Art Gallery-Nearly two dozen artists showcase their
work in this large gallery space in Tuscola. Peruse two floors filled
with work and check out events throughout the year to meet the
artists and further engage in their work.
Broken Oak Gallery-This stunning gallery, which sits in a wooded
area in White Heath, is a retreat for the senses. Home to the
owner's own work of photography, painting, and wood turning
collections, it also features works by other area artists.
Prairie Fire Glass-Glassblower and kind soul Jim Downey
showcases his immense talent in this gallery off the Monticello
Square. From jewelry to sculpture, you'll discover vibrant colors
that will bring joy to your life.
Urbana Museum of Photography-A combination of gallery
space and dark room, this downtown Urbana gallery reminds us
of the beauty of traditional film and highlights a range of new and
historic photos to inspire you.
Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center-This
community-driven space is host to a variety of art and mediarelated
activities that lifts up underrepresented voices and
perspectives through their art gallery, zine library, theatre space,
and a series of workshops and discussions.
