Music Festivals
Bringing music lovers together makes magic. Whether you want indie rock, folk, jazz, or everything
in-between, we have a festival for you.
Ellnora | The Guitar Festival-Happening every odd year in September, this festival is dedicated to all things
guitar. Catch the impressive skills displayed from Mariachi to Rock over two full days of music at the Krannert
Center for the Performing Arts.
Pygmalion-This three-day event got its start by highlighting the latest in indie rock and emerging music.
Over the years, it's expanded to include the Made Fest-a makers fair-as well as a mix of comedy, poetry, a
hackathon, and much more to start conversations. Check it out in downtown Urbana every September.
Folk & Roots Festival-This homegrown festival takes over downtown Urbana each October for three full days
of performances, demonstrations, dances, and more opportunities to gather and share the love for folk music.
CU Jazz Fest-Crossing the twin cities, jazz-lovers can catch sets across three days in October at our music
venues, libraries, and campus stops that will give you a renewed appreciation for this music with roots in
African American culture.
Prairie Crossroads Blues Fest-In year five, this newer music festival is hitting its stride as it entertains blues
fans at Bunny's Tavern in Urbana each August.
Mahomet Music Festival-Taking over Main Street in Mahomet, this annual August festival features local and
touring bands over two days, while you can also enjoy local food vendors, a parade, and a carnival.
LOCAL LOVES
Susan-My favorite place to visit is Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. I love being able to see world renowned talent,
local artists, and amazing touring companies perform on the state of the art stages of this beautiful theatre. Exposure to the
performing arts is vital to every community and it's wonderful to have this unique space where the arts can thrive in C-U.
