Connecting to Community Through Parks
Through the dedication of our local park districts, every home within Champaign-Urbana is within a half-mile of a
community park. Across our entire region, over 1,200 acres are dedicated to accessible green space for walking,
playing, and unwinding.
WEST SIDE PARK
Located on the western edge of
downtown Champaign, this park is a hub
of activity, hosting festivals like the West
Side Arts and Flannel Fest.
SPALDING PARK
Featuring tennis courts and a basketball
court, this area park is also a destination
for skateboarding with an 18,000 sq. ft.
skate park.
CARLE PARK
Urbana's third oldest park, this
neighborhood greenspace features
Loredo Taft's " Lincoln the Lawyer " statue,
a beautiful pavilion, a tree walk, and play
opportunities.
LOCAL LOVES

COLBERT PARK
In the heart of Savoy, this 55-acre
park has a stocked lake for catch-andrelease
fishing, sand volleyball, walking
paths, and the best sledding hill around
when snow falls!
BARBER PARK
This recently renovated park in
Mahomet features an all-inclusive
playground and an amphitheater
programmed with live music throughout
the year.
LODGE PARK
With 500 acres along the Sangamon
River, this large park in Monticello offers
opportunities to play, walk, and camp.
