The Visit Champaign County team actively sells and promotes the community as a destination to live,
work and visit. In collaboration with stakeholders and community partners, we celebrated numerous
successes in FY20.

IHSA BOYS STATE BASKETBALL
TOURNAMENT RETURNS

Visit Champaign County, University of Illinois
Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, and the
local community created a comprehensive
and compelling bid package that was over a
year in the making.

RESTAURANT WEEK GROWS

The 4th annual Champaign County Area
Restaurant Week was the biggest event yet,
with 32 participating restaurants. From
January 24-February 1, these restaurants
offered special menus for breakfast, lunch
and dinner. The website saw over 44,000 visits
during the promotion.

RANTOUL SPORTS COMPLEX
BREAKS GROUND

Opening in April 2021, the new Rantoul Family
Sports Complex will be a state-of the-art
complex for softball, baseball, soccer, football,
rugby, and lacrosse that will attract tournaments
from across the Midwest, with 25 weekends
booked in 2021.

I HOTEL & CONFERENCE
CENTER EXPANSION

The expansion will include an additional
32,500 sq. ft. with a 12,500 sq. ft. exhibit hall
allowing for groups of over 600. The expansion
is expected to be complete by
September 2020.
