FROM THE PARKS & RECREATION DIRECTOR
HELLO BAYTOWN!
On behalf of our Baytown Parks and Recreation Team, I would like to wish each of
you a very Happy New Year!
This year, as our team continues to expand, I would like to welcome our new
Parks and Recreation Assistant Director, Tracey Prothro. Tracey was previously
the Superintendent of Natural Resources Programs within our team, Chair of
the East Region Natural Resource Conservation committee, a regular speaker
at various Regional and State Conferences, and the Texas Recreation and Parks
Society's 2021 Parks Professional of the Year. Her knowledge, professionalism, and
commitment to our community will help our department continue to work together
to create unforgettable memories for our residents and guests of Baytown.
I would also like to encourage everyone to take the opportunity to review the
recently released Baytown Parks and Recreation's Annual Report located at
www.baytown.org/parkreports. There you will find a full recap of all the
innovative programs, classes, and recreational areas our team offered in 2022.
This year, we have committed to reporting how our team embodies each of the
City of Baytown's core values - caring, innovation, collaboration, leadership, and
stewardship, through our everyday programming and maintenance.
I hope that through the Baytown Parks and Recreation 2022 Annual Report
and this Activity Guide, you will discover a new way to get involved and help
to continue to build our community!
