AQUATICS DIVISION
2022 Aquatics Highlights:
* Recording-breaking attendance at
Pirates Bay: 218,425.
* Held 2nd Annual Back to School Bash
which included fireworks, games, a DJ,
and a foam zone.
* For the first time ever, sent a team to the
Texas Lifeguard Championship in July 2022.

The Aquatics Division of the City of Baytown's Parks and Recreation Department operates two
waterparks in the summer, Pirates Bay and Calypso Cove, as well as an Ice Rink in the winter.
NATURE DIVISION
The Environmental Education Division of the City of Baytown's Parks and Recreation Department
operates the Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Center and the Baytown Nature Center.
2022 Nature Highlights:
* Environment Protectors Initiating Change (E.P.I.C.) high school club had a busy year with its
third international conservation experience in Costa Rica and record-breaking attendance at the
Spooktacular Halloween event.
* The Baytown Nature Center celebrated its
20th anniversary with 5,500 visitors at its
11th Annual Nurture Nature Festival.
* Wetlands Wagon Outreach program
traveled across the state, partnering with
the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department at
the Poteet Strawberry Festival, Fort Worth
Mayfest, Ducks Unlimited Expo, and State
Fair of Texas.
