Shout-outs for a job well done
Matthew Mackwood
Matthew B. Mackwood, MD,
MPH, a family medicine physician at
Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Heater
Road in Lebanon, has been selected
to participate in the Harold Amos
Medical Faculty Development Program
funded by the Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation. This prestigious career
development award supports junior
faculty from historically disadvantaged
backgrounds. With this award, Dr.
Mackwood will work under the
mentorship of Elliott S. Fisher, MD, MPH,
a professor of medicine and health
policy at The Dartmouth Institute and
Geisel School of Medicine, and Jonathan
Skinner, PhD, a research professor
in the department of economics
at Dartmouth College, on a study
identifying best practices for leveraging
telehealth in primary care to address
inequities in access to care, focusing
on rural populations across the U.S. He
will then conduct a prospective study
implementing these best practices
in our local and regional context in
partnership with the Northern New
England CO-OP Practice & Community
Based Research Network.
In addition to his research and clinical
work at Heater Road Primary Care, where
he has been a primary care physician
since 2018, Dr. Mackwood is Co-Director
of the " Patients & Populations " course at
the Geisel School of Medicine.
Pam Switzer
Cheshire's PACU Nurse Manager,
Pam Switzer, MSN, RN, received a
Leadership Recognition Award, which
recognizes outstanding leadership
qualities, as demonstrated by excellence
in caring, character, commitment,
competence and communication.
Employees submit nominations for the
quarterly award, and Cheshire's Senior
Operations Team selects the winners.
Here is some of what one of the

Nicole LaRoche
Nicole LaRoche, MHA,
RT(R)(CT)(M), Manager
of Operations-Diagnostic
Imaging at Alice Peck
Day Memorial Hospital,
wrote an article that was
recently published in Healthcare Business Review
magazine. In the article, titled " Using Enterprise
Imaging Strategies: A Collaborative Approach to
Care, " LaRoche explores the advances in imaging
that have influenced how surgeries are performed,
illnesses are identified, life-threatening conditions are
diagnosed, and patients are healed and helped.

is an integral part of the multidisciplinary
inpatient team. She has a passion for
teaching, and has shared her knowledge
with pharmacy students and peers. In
addition to caring for the patients of NLH,
she has been a regular panelist at the
Greater Sullivan County Public Health
Network lecture series, educating the
community on the dangers of mixing
medications and alcohol. Outside of
work, she has been studying for over a
year and recently passed the rigorous
test to become a Board Certified
Pharmacotherapy Specialist. "
