Shout-outs for a job well done
Logan Benjamin
Logan Benjamin, DC, CSCS, is the first
recipient of a new fellowship called The
Chiropractic Research Fellowship at Dartmouth.
This 3-year program is the only one of its kind
in the country. The fellowship's goal is to teach
exceptional chiropractors how to develop and
conduct research on spine-related pain to
advance the evidence base in chiropractic care.
Fellows will obtain a master's in Public Health
at The Dartmouth Institute of Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI), see
patients with acute and chronic spine pain, and conduct mentored research.
The fellowship is led by Louis A. Kazal Jr., MD, director of Integrative
Medicine in the Department of Community and Family Medicine, with
additional research mentorship provided by Jon Lurie, MD, MS, Todd
MacKenzie, PhD, MD, Justin Goehl, DC, MS, and other TDI colleagues.

Entry Point Ambassador.
Cooie's contributions were
recognized with not one
but two internal awards
from SVMC in the month
of November. First, Cooie was nominated by her peers to
receive SVMC's Putnam Award for Empathy, one of the
hospital's core values. Two weeks later, she was selected for
the PETAL Award, given to staff who go above and beyond
in their work. As her peers said: " Cooie is warm, kind and
compassionate with each person she interacts with. She
genuinely cares for others and wants to help make their trip
to the hospital as manageable as possible. You will never see
her without a smile and a warm word for others. "

Representatives
The Team Assistants and Patient Access Representatives at VNH
have stepped out of their comfort zone to cross-train in each other's
roles. Over the summer months, both groups began the process while
maintaining their current position's work demand. The result of this
success is that now the weekends are staffed by one team member
rather than one from each department, which has decreased stress
for the small teams. We are proud of their perseverance through this
process and their dedication to helping each other learn!
Deborah Wood
Three years ago,
Deborah (Deb) Wood was
hired at Newport Health
Center (NHC) as a screener
during COVID-19. Since
then, Wood transitioned
to a patient experience
greeter assisting and
welcoming patients and
staff. " Deb is a bright
spot situated at the front door of NHC who brings warmth,
kindness and a smile to interactions with patients, their family
members and our staff, " says Bentley Gallo, manager of
Patient Experience. " Deb is always considerate of the needs
of individuals she interacts with and helps act as a source of
guidance and wayfinding for patients around our Newport
Health Center facility. "

Otelah Perry, MS, MT,
MB, CMQOE, director of
Quality, Patient Safety, and
Compliance at Mt. Ascutney
Hospital and Health Center
(MAHHC), has received the
Quality Collective Award
from the American Hospital
Association. The award
was given in recognition of Perry's contributions to the
Quality Collective, and for her unwavering commitment to
improving healthcare quality and patient safety.
