HIGH
Shout-outs for a job well done
Darcy Main
Darcy Main, RN, was nominated
by her colleagues for recognizing a
trend in the vulnerable population
she provides care to in radiology at
Southwestern Vermont Medical
Center (SVMC). After discussing
barriers with her patients, Darcy
recognized that other patients
undergoing similar treatments were
more successful when services were
coordinated in their home environment. She immediately connected
the dots and reached out to our Social Services team for assistance.
Darcy feels ready to take this knowledge to the next level and look for
ways to set her patients up for success. She is also working with SVMC
counterparts, case managers and nurses in other facets of patient care to
create a robust plan. Thank you, Darcy, for looking beyond the encounter
to enhance the patient experience!
Binata Ray
Binata Ray successfully completed the phlebotomy program and
will be taking her certification exam in the near future. Binata is the first
employee for Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital Lab to go through the
program. She came from DH Micro Department as a lab assistant and is
now a phlebotomist! She has a great personality and fits in well with the
lab team. We are all happy to have her here.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital Maintenance Team
Although our Maintenance team always does an amazing
amount of work to keep our organization running at its best, in
just the last year the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center
maintenance team has completed a vast number of projects and
improvements that are worthy of our mention and appreciation.
Starting with the renovation of a new condo space for
employee housing, supporting the installation of a new
HVAC system for the Laboratory, plumbing and HVAC repairs,
renovation of the ED nurses station and supply room, interior
painting and modernizing updates to common spaces-all while
keeping the sidewalks clear of snow and ice for our patients and
staff and daily Preventive Maintenance to keep an aging building
running smooth!
The Maintenance Team says they work hard to support who
they call the real superheroes-those who provide care for our
patients, but we think they are pretty awesome, too.
Thank you to this entire team for being daily All-Stars!

Stephen Weeks, Scott Hillock, Kevin Sweeney and Sam Gragan.
Ben Tuttle
Ben Tuttle is
always there when the
Cheshire Medical
Center EVS team needs
him and is always
staying late to help the
other shifts. On several
occasions, Ben has
worked 12- or 13-hour
shifts because of staffing
challenges. He is what
you call a true team player, working every day to keep our
medical center clean and functional for patients and staff.
Greg Heath
If you need a smile
during a challenging
shift, then there is a good
chance you can find one
if you come across Greg
Heath, perioperative
surgical tech in the New
London Hospital OR.
" Greg is just one of those
people who carries a positive attitude while attending to
the needs of his patients and fellow team members, " says
Kim Green, OR clinical supervisor, and Bethany Bourcier,
NLH director of Surgical Services. " He's always looking for
training opportunities to help other departments. " Recently,
Greg has been assisting Sterile Processing with turning
over equipment and will soon learn to run the sterilizers,
so that he can help the department during challenging
staffing times.
