The transition to a new phone
New London Hospital
Inpatient Services Team
New London's Inpatient Services Team has built a culture of
inclusiveness and diversity, and morale is high as they are scoring
in the 90th percentile for their most recent Press Ganey scores
in Nursing. The team has filled numerous crucial positions on a
medical-surgical floor with the launch of a new Nurse Residency
Program. Patients and family members continue to express their
gratitude for the compassionate care they have received from the
providers, RNs, new LPs, LNAs and health unit coordinators.
Sarah Johnston
Sarah Johnston, RN, nurse manager
of Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital's
Medical/Surgical department, is an
inspiration to her team. " I have never had
such a great boss before, " wrote Janine
Montminy, RN. " She's caring, supportive,
and extremely flexible with your schedule.
If you need to work certain hours for
personal reasons, such as your health,
she makes it happen. She's also a very
knowledgeable nurse. I want to be like her
some day; she's a great role model. "
Matt King
Matt King received Cheshire's President's
Rwandan Endoscopy Week team
Led by Steven Bensen, MD, a gastroenterologist and
hepatologist at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, 13
providers, endoscopic technicians, nurses, a biomedical engineer
and a medical student from DHMC, New London Hospital and
the Geisel School of Medicine traveled to Rwanda to collaborate
with partners there on gastrointestinal health. Through their
work, Dartmouth Health and Rwandan staff were able to
diagnose and indicate treatment for more than 900 patients at
8 sites around the country.
Service Excellence Award (PSEA) in
recognition for his exemplary service to
others. The award is characterized by
compassion, courtesy, responsiveness to the
needs and concerns of others, pride, and a
positive team attitude. Employees submit
nominations for the quarterly award, and
Cheshire's Senior Operations Team selects
the winners. His nominator said, in part:
" Matt has been the best EVS tech in our
ED in the 4 years I've been here. He truly
understands how important his role is to our
department's flow and patient care. "
system for Mt. Ascutney Hospital and
Health Center and its Ottauquechee
Health Center in Woodstock, Vt., is
complete, thanks to a years-long effort
led by Jason Bean, IS site director, and
supported by Rick Irish, senior desktop
technician, and Tyson Taft, director of
plant operations. Replacing the 20-yearold
system posed significant challenges
and required extensive technological updates. Later this spring, Mt.
Ascutney's Ophthalmology clinic in Hanover will be added, unifying all of
Mt. Ascutney's locations on the new system.
