Lost then found
A wedding ring, a pair of scrubs and a happy ending

" He said he would get a key and go
Baldwin, MD, was almost home
when he realized he had left his
wedding ring in the waistband
of his scrubs after surgery. He
immediately called his wife, Wendy,
who told him to call the hospital.
When he reached the OR desk, the
person who answered was clinical
nurse Steven Doyle, MSN, CNOR.
down and look, " Baldwin says.
" I was the charge nurse in the
OR when I fielded his call, " Doyle
remembers. " He said he had left his
wedding band in the scrub return bin
and asked me if there was anything
that could be done to find it. I went
down to the dispatch window, and they
had the key for the scrub return bin.
I unlocked it and there were not too
many in there. I found the scrubs he
had described, and the ring was there. "
Luckily, the company had emptied
the return bin prior to Baldwin
tossing his scrubs-and his ring-into
the receptacle, leaving a window of
opportunity for Doyle to find it. Doyle
left it at the desk for Baldwin, who
retrieved it the next morning.
" I was really, really thankful to get it
back, " Baldwin says. He had met Wendy
when she was a spine implant rep,
and the ring was made of titanium, the
same material used in spinal implant
devices. He says he sent Doyle a thankyou
note and found him a week later
and introduced himself.
" I could tell when he called me that
he had a lot of concern about getting
his wedding ring back, " Doyle says. " I
was so glad to tell him I found the ring. "

Tiffany Boyd named to 2024 " 40 Under Forty " list
Tiffany M. Boyd, MHA, RN, ACM-RN, a senior nurse leader from
Cheshire Medical Center, has been named to the 2024 " 40 Under
Forty " list by the New Hampshire Union Leader, recognizing her as a
young professional making a difference in her career and community.
In 2011, Boyd joined Cheshire as an RN care coordinator and
currently serves as senior director of Inpatient Services, Care
Management and Behavioral Health. Her mission is to create an
environment where patients receive the highest-quality clinical care
with compassionate and holistic support.
" I have found joy in leading with empathy, fostering resilience,
and helping to be part of a community that shapes the future of
nursing, " Boyd says.
