Heroes for
children
The 18th annual CHaD HERO event
raised more than $700,000 for
critical child and family support
services for New Hampshire's only
children's hospital
A record-breaking number of
participants, sponsors
and donors descended on the
Dartmouth Green in Hanover
on Sunday, October 15, for the
18th annual CHaD HERO. This
community event provides
funding for critical child and
family support services at the
Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical
Center (CHaD) and throughout the Dartmouth Health
Children's system. Since its inception, the CHaD HERO
has raised almost $10 million. This year, to make the
event more accessible to all, there were no registration
fees. This change resulted in significant increases in
participation, fundraising and attendance.
Here's the 2023 CHaD HERO event by the numbers:
* More than 3,100 registrants plus family and friends
* Total amount raised exceeded $750,000
* An increase in attendance of 56%
* An increase in fundraising of 126%
* More than 300 employees participated
* 16 employee teams competed
* Employees raised more than $66,000!
* 14 Kid HEROES were honored to inspire and bring to life
our mission and purpose
The CHaD HERO is more than a fundraising event and
brings many in the community together.
" The CHaD HERO is so much more
than a fundraising event to us; it is a true
community program, " says Director of CHaD
Community Fundraising Events Olive Isaacs.
" The changes to this year's event model
were made with that in mind-to ensure
that every family in our community could
participate in a meaningful way. We are
thrilled to have seen such a positive result. "

employees participating.
16 employee teams
competed and raised
more than $66,000.
The HERO began as a
half-marathon run and
has expanded to feature
a 5K run/walk, 1 mile
fun run and a virtual
component.
