The Journey from Lock 37-41

ock 37, Bolsover – the start of five locks before the traveller reaches Lake Simcoe. Bolsover is your first downstream lock. You will come into this lock at the top and the ever-present lock staff will be glad to assist you. There are some services that are nearby but not so many that is interferes with the peace and quiet of the area. One spot that is close by is Twig’s Trent Club Family Restaurant, only about a five minute walk from Lock 37 in Bolsover. As the journey to Lake Simcoe from Lock 37 at Bolsover continues, the next four locks should take you approximately 2 hours depending on the tim-
ing of your exit from Lock 37. Once you have exited from Lock 37, you will quickly approach Lock 38 at Talbot. At this lock you have a chance to have a nice quick lunch break at a beautiful peaceful locksite. At Lock 39 portage, the view is one of farmland. There is a picnic area at the top. Lock 40, Thorah, has a number of picnic tables on both the top and bottom and has a lot of shaded areas. If you are coming off Lake Simcoe to Lock 41 at Gamebridge, your travel time to Bolsover lock 37 should be approximately 2-1/2 hours.
