DFCPROMOTION By Geneviève Fontaine Balanced approach Updated menu planner helps familes plan and prepare healthier meals and snacks FC has revamped its Menu Planner, a practical resource that helps families plan healthy meals and snacks. The reusable tool, created in partnership with Breakfast for Learning, reflects the new Canada’s Food Guide. A tear-off, reusable list lets families track the ingredients they need when grocery shopping. On the reverse are menu planning suggestions, as well as tips on choosing healthier beverages and snacks. Research has shown the planner helps families increase their milk and milk products consumption. To promote the new tool, DFC held a public relations tour in Ontario last month to coincide with back-toschool. A DFC registered dietitian talked about new research linking child nutrition and academic performance on several television and radio shows. Consumers were also invited to visit dairygoodness.ca to order a copy of the planner. 26 | October 2009 | MilkPRODUCER
