NEW’N’NOTED Four new tractor models added to mid-sized line Cow brush can pay for itself Kubota M135X Kubota has introduced four new models to its M-Series deluxe, mid-size tractor line: the Kubota M100X, M110X, M126X and the M135X. The higher horsepower M-Series tractors feature added power, more torque and an electronic common rail fuel system for more power, less noise and reduced emissions. The M100X and the M110X are powered by a Kubota 3.8-litre engine while on the larger side of the series, the M126X and the M135X feature a new four-cylinder, high-torque engine with a 6.1-litre displacement. The 16F/16R Intelli-Shift transmission features an eight-speed, dual-range powershift for 16 gears in forward and reverse. Hydraulic shuttle and wet main clutch are standard. Enhancements on the Kubota M-Series deluxe mid-sized tractors help you work more efficiently. A new dash-instrumentation includes a central command LCD panel that displays engine information, fuel used per hour, travel direction and gear selection. The Kubota-Electronic Management System (K-EMS) is a new electronic engine control system. It includes a computerized governor control dial that maintains engine revolutions per minute to your selection, while two memory settings can be set for frequently used speeds. Cows brushing themselves produced more milk and had less mastitis. airy cows using the DeLaval Swinging Cow Brush (SCB) register higher milk production and lower clinical mastitis cases, according to a Cornell University study. The study compared different groups of cows housed in pens using the Swinging Cow Brush to similar groups kept in identical pens under the exact same conditions but without the SCB. The research team concluded second-lactation cows using the SCB showed a significant and increasing difference in daily milk production of up to one kilogram or more per day. “The Swinging Cow Brush provided a favorite pastime for the cows in this herd,” says Ynte H. Schukken, professor of herd health at Cornell. “It was fun to watch their interaction with this grooming device. The added benefit of increased production and reduced clinical mastitis makes me think that every farmer should utilize the Cow Brush to make the cows and themselves a bit happier.” A second major finding was the significant drop in clinical mastitis cases by more than 30 per cent among second and older lactation cows housed in SCB-equipped pens. According to DeLaval, the SCB investment can be covered several times through increased milk production and cost savings achieved through mastitis prevention.
