DFCPROMOTION By Geneviève Fontaine Summer treat DFC promotes Real Cream at fourth annual Get Fresh Strawberry Festival Healthy snack resource gets needed redesign D T his summer, DFC will partner with Gay Lea Foods and the Ontario Berry Growers Association to sponsor the fourth annual Get Fresh Strawberry Festival. Twenty-three strawberry festivals will be held throughout Ontario on June 26 and 27. Event materials will feature the Real Cream and 100% Canadian Milk symbols. Consumers can also sample berries served with Real Cream at the festivals and at various farms across the province throughout the summer. Dairy Farmers of Canada brings you the latest news from the national marketing and nutrition front with this feature. To ensure the information is current, DFC recently updated its key messages and redesigned its Facts on Snacks resource. The revised easy-reference resource tool helps busy caregivers learn what kind of healthy snacks to offer young children. It offers quick snack ideas while reinforcing the benefits of milk, cheese and yogurt as optimal snacks for growing bodies. It also reflects Ontario’s diverse ethnic and cultural food preferences. The Ontario Association of Public Health Dentistry and the Ontario Society of Nutrition Professionals in Public Health endorsed the new resource.
