Holiday Parties

On December 10th, 2019, OSPE's annual
Toronto holiday party was held at the
Hockey Hall of Fame amongst the Stanley
Cup, Art Ross and all sorts of spectacular
hockey memorabilia on December 10,
2019. The attendees were greeted with
welcome remarks from both OSPE CEO,
Sandro Perruzza and President and
Chair, Dr. Tibor Turi, Ph.D., P. Eng.
Approximately 100 guests, including
board members, students, families,
their guests, and industry players were
invited to mingle and feast on the spread
from catering company Marigolds &
Onions. Highlights were chicken &
waffles, salmon bites, meatball sliders,
and a dessert station with delicious
hockey puck shaped brownies. Wine and
beer were served as guests wandered
the esteemed halls to the sounds of
Christmas jazz. Official allocation was
6-9 p.m. and many guests stayed past this
time to enjoy the festive surroundings
and trophies on display.

On December 17, OSPE held its holiday
party for Ottawa members in Byward
Market at the Grand Pizzeria and Bar.
Guests were treated to a fine selection of
pizzas, salads and holiday desserts, in a
relaxed, casual atmosphere.
At the end of each event, guests were
treated to gift bags which included our
new OSPE branded Thinsulate toques
and other parting gifts.

OSPE is hosting 4 Engineering
Employment Events (E3s) this year that
will connect you with engineering interns
and professional engineers who meet
your recruitment needs. E3s provide
employers with an opportunity to meet
engineering talent face-to-face, along
with the ability to conduct interviews
on-site when you find candidates of
interest. This event focuses on recent
graduates and individuals with EIT and
P.Eng. designations.

How to Change the World | Canada
2020 was delivered in partnership with
the Canadian Society of Professional
Engineers to equip early-career
engineering, business and policy
professionals with the knowledge and
skills they need to create positive,
sustainable change in their communities
and organizations. The program
brought together a group of talented
students and young professionals from
government, industry and academia in
order to collaborate on some of the world's
most pressing and complex problems
as outlined in the United Nation's
Sustainable Development Goals.

Throughout the month of March, events
will be taking place across Ontario to
celebrate engineering, offer opportunities
for education, and build a sense of
inclusion in the profession. For a full list

February 19, 2020 - February 21, 2020
Toronto

March is National Engineering Month
(NEM), and OSPE is taking the
opportunity to celebrate. On March
30, 2020 we'll be cheering on NBA
Champions, the Toronto Raptors,
during their game against the Memphis
Grizzlies. A pre-game tip-off party will
occur beforehand at Kelly's Landing with
dinner, drinks, and games. There may even
be some engineering themed surprises on
the court!
