The conference will focus on four stream
topics tackling pervasive global issues,
alongside the challenges faced by
engineers in today's industry: namely
Sustainability, Innovation, Workforce,
and Skills for Tomorrow. OSPE's Task
Force and Committee members will be in
attendance to provide a host of interactive
presentations on the above streams.

attendees will be given opportunities
to provide input, but for subject
matter experts who wish to lead the
discussion, a call for speakers has
been made available online at
www.engineeringconference.
ca. Submissions will be evaluated
by a selection committee consisting
of OSPE Board Members and Ambassadors. Details of the
submission and evaluation process can be found online.
A series of business enhancement, networking, and
communication workshops tailored to the needs of modern
engineering professionals will also be made available. These
courses are an opportunity to interact directly with industry
leaders and grow your own networking and communication
skills. Continuous learning is the only way for professionals
to keep their skills up to date, and has proven to be more
important than ever in STEM fields such as engineering, where
incompetency, lack of training, or outdated skills can have
dangerous results.
A central feature of the conference will be educating attendees
on the various benefits of an OSPE membership through direct
interaction with OSPE staff and affinity partners, as well as
learning about the innovative work taking place at Ontario's

post-secondary institutions,
businesses, and incubators.
Members and non-members
are all encouraged to attend.
Whether you're new to OSPE
or have been a member since
our inception, the Engineering
Conference is designed to help
you get the most out of your
profession, and your OSPE
membership.
While the conference's focus is
on the learning needs of Ontario's engineering profession, the event
is also a celebration of the remarkable achievements of Ontario's
engineers. To commemorate these achievements, OSPE's annual
awards dinner and our 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) will
be held in conjunction with this two day conference. The AGM
will be an opportunity to make your voice heard and create the
change you hope to see at OSPE, and by extension in Ontario's
engineering industry as a whole.
We hope that the Engineering Conference serves to empower
attendees by further informing them of the issues facing
engineers in Ontario and providing them with resources to tackle
these concerns. We hope the conference helps attendees grow as
professionals by introducing them to the plethora of continuous
learning resources at their disposal. And we hope that all our
attendees walk away having learned that they each have the
power to make a truly positive change for our profession.
