ONTARIO ENGINEERING ACADEMY
Learning Management System (LMS)
In support of this, the OEA will be launching a new learning
management system (LMS) in Q1 2022, giving us more capacity
to support your professional development. The new system will
allow us to expand our e-learning catalogue and we're looking
forward to adding options in each of our five learning streams.
CUSTOMIZED COMPANY LEARNING
This LMS also gives us the ability to create a customized learning
portal for your company, making it easier for your staff to continue
their professional development when and where it's convenient
for them. Your organization can use our system to create an
online learning portal tailored to your employees, with access
to all online courses in the OEA's e-learning catalogue. To learn

OEA Curriculum Development
EMERGING LEADERS CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
Numerous studies confirm that the best way to attract and retain
top talent is to invest in their professional development, and
forward-thinking leaders know they need to develop their staff
to enhance their leadership pipelines. Proactive employees with
leadership aspirations understand the importance of supporting
their technical expertise with leadership capability.
Leveraging our exclusive partnership with Rzultz, the OEA
is offering a new certificate program for new and emerging
leaders that goes beyond awareness-level workshops. In a
program designed specifically for an engineering audience,
Rzultz instructors combine subject matter expertise with a deep
understanding of the engineering world. They engage participants
during interactive sessions that challenge learners as they hone or
develop skills they need on their leadership journeys.
Members who earn this certificate will acquire knowledge and
tools that will help them:
* Understand and adapt to leadership priorities, which differ
significantly from their roles as individual contributors
* Develop their own authentic leadership styles
* Build cohesive, collaborative teams
* Establish and foster trust in their professional relationships
* Effectively delegate work
* Manage priorities to ensure their team's work aligns with
the company's strategic objectives

STREAM
One of the greatest assets any organization has is the diversity
of its employees. Companies that understand and embrace the
power of unique perspectives and lived experiences reap the
rewards that come with the innovation and creativity that are
unleashed by collaboration among people with different skills.
Aligning with OSPE's values the work of engineers on OSPE's
Diversity & Inclusion Task Force, our DiversifySTEM initiative,
the OEA is developing an entire learning stream focused on equity,
diversity, and inclusion (EDI) because diverse workforces don't
just happen. They require thoughtful planning, honest reflection,
and the ability to foster a truly accepting culture.
While we're developing some offerings in the short-term, we'll
unveil a more comprehensive curriculum as we progress. Our plan
is to consult with members from many different communities,
including stakeholders both within and outside of the engineering
profession, on a wide range of topics including (but not limited to):

Indigenous history and engagement

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY ENGINEERING
CERTIFICATE
Partnering with Minerva Safety Management Education, the
OEA launched an Occupational Health & Safety Engineering
Certificate program in May. This online multi-level program
offers Ontario's engineering leaders solid health and safety
development opportunities regardless of where they are in their
careers.
