The 15th annual Claudette mackay-lassonde Fall Forum: navigating the Glass Obstacle Course

Hosted by the Society's Women in Engineering Advocacy Committee (WEAC), the 2017 Annual Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Fall
Forum will examine the unseen, implicit, and unanticipated barriers that women encounter throughout their engineering careers,
and strategies to help women navigate these obstacles.
Several engineering Deans have been invited to discuss the steps post-secondary institutions are taking to support young women
in engineering programs. Engineering companies will share innovative programs that have been developed to support and retain
women. Representatives from other professional associations will discuss initiatives the engineering field can emulate. Government
officials will be invited to discuss the importance of a progressive engineering profession for Canada's future economic prosperity
and growth.
The 2017 Annual Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Fall Forum hosted by OSPE's Women in Engineering Advocacy Committee
(WEAC) will provide a day of active learning and networking opportunities, as well as panelists, moderators, and guests who will
explore what can be done to help retain women in engineering.
Leaders from engineering companies will share innovative programs and initiatives that have been developed to support
and retain women engineers. Representatives from other professional associations will discuss corporate best practices that
the engineering field can emulate. Government officials will be invited to discuss the importance of a progressive and diverse
engineering profession for Canada's future economic prosperity and growth.
