certification program at Siemens is not like traditional academic programs
- it's systems-oriented, hands-on, and less theoretical.
"Programs like the Academy's Dual Education Program and the
Mechatronics Certification are just the first step," Dr. Murad explains.
"I really believe in young people. They just need guidance and faith in
themselves and their capabilities for growth and success."
As a third generation engineer, Dr. Murad says he was born to be one.
He advises engineering students to never give up, overcome challenges,
think outside the box, and always be hungry for knowledge. "Knowledge is
the best fortune anyone can have." Dr. Murad came to Canada over twenty
years ago with a young family. "I had to prove myself and keep climbing
walls to succeed."
He adds that "being an engineer requires a special skill set - logical
thinking, innovation, and problem-solving. To me, it's a way of life and a
way of thinking. You also need to have that fire inside you - to contribute
to the field."
The next recruitment period for the Dual Education Program is November
2016 to February 2017 for the third Cohort classes commencing in May 2017.
