Reason # 2 Every journey is different, no trip is the same. 25 Years Young On the global stage, 1990 will go down in history as a very special and significant year. Against all odds, Germany is reunited and once again becomes one country. The World Wide Web is created, changing our lives forever. Nelson Mandela is released from prison, and just four short years later he becomes South Africa's President. Jubilant English and French workers meet in the middle of the momentous Chunnel to celebrate an astonishing achievement. For Rocky Mountaineer, 1990 is also significant. After many years of dreaming big and continuous hard work, we prepared for our maiden departure from beautiful Vancouver, BC to the majestic Canadian Rockies. Little did we know that in 25 short years, we would go on to welcome nearly two million guests from all corners of the world, introducing them to indescribable scenery and an experience they will never forget. In this period, we would go on to become the largest privately owned luxury train company in the world. As proud as we are of our history, we are even more excited about the future. We get to meet and make new friends on every departure, with both our guests and our team bringing home something very special. For all of the international awards and accolades, we keep on evolving, designing, measuring and tasting, and looking for other ways to create an even better life changing experience for our new and returning guests. When you join us onboard, you'll know exactly why Rocky Mountaineer is like no other experience on earth. Every journey is different-no trip is the same.
