LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

I remember receiving my acceptance letter from Ryerson like it was yesterday. I knew I got in as soon as I picked it up because it was a large envelope filled with information. All the details about how I would earn a bachelor of applied arts in journalism back then in the ’80s, before Ryerson was a university. That moment, filled with promise and possibility, felt like success to me; it meant I was going somewhere. It meant everything.
—Colleen Mellor, Journalism ’86
