THE ROBOT UPRISING came to campus: from March 16-17, more than 800 students in 40 teams converged at Ryerson’s Mattamy Athletic Centre for the Ontario District FIRST Robotics Competition.

The competition called on teams from Ontario and Quebec to build a robot in six weeks, with the hope of advancing to the national and world championships. It was organized by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Canada, an organization dedicated to inspiring young people to become science and technology leaders.
