John Bell

John has published his second book, a novel titled Circumstantial Enemy, following his first book, a non-fiction work called Do Less Better: The Power of Strategic Sacrifice in a Complex World. John has penned blogs for Ryerson, including one called “Attention Baby Boomers. Are you ready to reinvent yourself?”

Stan Greenspan
Photographic Arts ’77
Stan is serving a two-year term as elected president of the International Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs. With more than 25,000 members in over 15 countries, it is the largest Jewish male advocacy group in the world, focusing on health, family and educational issues. Stan’s father, the late Harry Greenspan, was a professor in the chemistry department at Ryerson, and presented Stan his degree when he graduated. Stan writes: “During my time at Ryerson, I was president of the Photographic Arts Course Union, and recently organized our 40th reunion, which we held, of course, in the Library at the Imperial.”

Lucca Hallex
Hospitality and Tourism ’81
Lucca is the co-host of ESSENCEtial Conversations, a show dedicated to exploring the voice and purpose of societal shifters, unusual thinkers, and people who are pushing the edges of what we know and think is possible. After graduating from Ryerson, she worked for Sheraton Hotels for five years in human resources and has remained in the human development field for her entire career, continuing her education and moving from management development to counselling to coaching. She has been self-employed since 1990.
Robert Hoshowsky
Journalism ’89
Robert is the author of Outraged: The Murder of Shoeshine Boy Emanuel Jaques, a true crime story about the infamous 1977 slaying. Through original interviews with defence attorneys, lawmakers, politicians, and sex workers along with extensive archival research and never-before-seen police photos and court documents, the book reveals the truth behind the murder, which resulted in the largest clean-up of the sex industry in Canadian history. Published in more than 100 magazines and newspapers worldwide, Rob has profiled such serial killers as Jeffrey Dahmer. A former researcher-reporter at Maclean’s magazine, he regularly appears on television discussing unsolved murders and disappearances.
