Demi Theodor
Interior Design ’83
Demi works for TJX as a jewelry consultant. She is an associate chair of its health and safety committee and a past “joy ambassador” of the store. As a team member of Spark Show Production, she is actively involved in the Toronto International Youth Dance Festival where she recruits new dance studios to showcase multicultural dances each summer.

Denise Ashmore
Interior Design ’94
Denise was named the 2017 Interior Designer of the Year by Western Living Magazine. She spent seven years designing public spaces, exhibits, residential sales centres, and stores in Vancouver before moving to residential design and working with Robert Ledingham. She launched her own firm in 2012, called Project 22 Design, and has designed more than 20 residences, ranging from a 360-square-foot laneway studio to a 6,000-square-foot home, not to mention her own home, on lot 22 of West 22nd in Vancouver – hence the name of her firm!
Becky Dowsett, RTA ’96, and
Anthony Miele, Social Work ’98
Becky and Anthony met at Ryerson in 1994 and are now married with four children. Becky is a national account executive at The Weather Network (Pelmorex Inc.) and Anthony is vice-president at Sports Centre and Design Management Corporation/Wave Hockey.
Jessica Holmes
RTA School of Media ’98
Jessica is a comedian, author, and mental health advocate who has opened for Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres and Leslie Nielsen. Best known for her impressions of the likes of Celine Dion and Liza Minelli, she performed with Second City, Just for Laughs, and the Royal Canadian Air Farce. She is the author of I Love Your Laugh: Finding the Light in my Screwball Life, published in 2010, and earlier this year, Depression: The Comedy. Married to actor and comedian Scott Yaphe, RTA ’93, she is the mother of two children, Alexa and Jordan.
Maja Ilic, Fashion ’91, and
Michael Bremer, Fashion ’92
The couple met at Ryerson and shared an appreciation for innovative design. Combining Michael’s passion for quality workmanship and Maja’s love of design, they launched Myka in 1987, turning their hobby into a part-time business and eventually a full-time business. Their pewter jewelry designs have since been found at Ports International, Holt Renfrew, and Nordstrom’s and throughout the U.K., Germany and Russia. Crystals, semiprecious stones, and a variety of glass and crystal beads enhance each signature piece.
