INNOVATION

The business of sport

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, Ltd. (MLSE) and Ryerson have teamed up on a lab for sport innovation and research.

The Future of Sport Lab (FSL) is creating a sport business ecosystem to connect sport properties, industry partners, entrepreneurs, faculty and students.

The lab will support innovative sport business ideas, technologies and research. It will also support startups, and MLSE will potentially pilot test products and/or services.

The Ted Rogers School of Management has also launched a new MBA specialization in Sport Business. The program offers students greater insight into sport marketing, strategy, financial management and business analytics, working closely with Toronto’s leading commercial sport organizations.

“Toronto is truly a worldclass sport business city. The Future of Sport Lab will bring together the incredible talent that’s already here and give them a chance to collaborate and create solutions with real world impact. This will be the new home of sport innovation in Canada,” said Cheri Bradish, Loretta Rogers Research Chair in Sport Marketing at the Ted Rogers School of Management.
