Seneca Works
THERE ARE MANY FACTORS to consider when
choosing a postsecondary institution,
including quality of instructors, reputation
of program, and - most importantly, for
many - career success after graduation. At
Seneca, 81 per cent of graduates from 20182019
found employment within the first six
months of graduating and the satisfaction
rate among employers was 94.1 per cent.
The programming offered by the Seneca
Works team has been a major contributor
to this success.
Seneca Works supports the overall career
preparation of students with a wide variety
of services and workshops in areas such as
resumé and cover letter writing, job search,
interview skills and networking. Additionally,
work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities
offered in more than 70 academic
programs allow students to gain hands-on
experience in their area of study.
After graduation, Seneca Works continues
to support recent alumni with jobsearch
services, access to the career portal
and an interactive LinkedIn page.

Seneca Works helps launch
students into their careers.
Before 2021, WIL and Career Development
existed as separate departments
at Seneca. Bringing them together in a
hybrid (virtual and in-person) format benefits
the career preparation of students, says
Jennifer Graham, Director, Academic
Learning Services.
" We are excited about the new and flexible
programming Seneca Works is able to
offer to students and employers, " she said.
" The new amalgamated hybrid model
allows us to leverage resources to provide
integrated and automated programming to
assist students in becoming career-ready. "
Seneca Works has invested in remote
interview preparation sessions provided by
InStage, allowing WIL students to access
interview support from anywhere in the
world. They also launched an employer
professional development series this fall,
offering training on topics such as occupational
health and safety, cultural considerations
in the workplace, motivating
millennials and enhancing productivity
through accommodations.
