Improvements complement Seneca's
digital service environment
Newnham Campus
gets new digital screens
and service hub
NEWNHAM CAMPUS is looking a lot different
these days with more digital screens and a
service hub in place to help students find
answers quickly and get the support they need.
As part of the Seneca Au Large initiative
to introduce a centralized, more virtual and
convenient service delivery model, the
service hub, about 724 square metres, has
replaced the counters in the Registrar's
Office, Financial Aid and Admissions area
in Building D. It features a shared multipurpose
space for service groups, a flexible
common area and private meeting rooms.
Instead of having to wait in line and
go from one department to another for
support, students can find what they need
in this one-stop destination, which offers
both self-serve options and consultation
with friendly Seneca experts. Similar
in-person service hubs are now available
at King, Markham and Seneca@York.
These on-campus improvements
complement Seneca's digital service environment,
which now includes a self-service
portal on MySeneca. The portal allows
students to book virtual appointments and
access services and support 24-7, including
information about registration, mental health,
student life and much more.
" With simple and easy-to-use technology
and engagement channels, our students

now receive personalized interactions in
real time, " said Radha Krishnan, CIO
and Vice-President, Customer Support.
Another visible upgrade at Newnham
Campus is the installation of new digital
screens. These include wayfinding signs
throughout the campus as well as a feature
wall and obelisk signage in the Centre for
Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship.
The existing on-campus digital information
screens continue to display details about
safety protocols, reminders and events,
while adding up-to-date weather information,
news headlines and a clock to help
students and employees stay informed and
plan their days. Screens close to transit
stops also show arrival times for TTC and
York Region Transit buses.
" Our students told us how we can
serve them better and we listened, " Mr.
Krishnan said. " Seneca's service delivery
model is evolving on campus and online
and our goal is to meet students where they
are, quickly, with accurate, easy-to-understand
information. "
