First Terracon Scholarship Awarded
The first scholarship from the Terracon
Consultants Scholarship Fund, in the
amount of $2,000, was awarded to Joelle
Westcott, a freshman at the University of
Colorado Boulder. The scholarship fund
was established in January 2020 through a
$50,000 National Partner Grant from the
Terracon Foundation. The Foundation's
grant established an endowment fund from
which an annual scholarship award of
$2,000 will be made to engineering
students attending any U.S. college or
university.

Condon Scholarship
Kaitlyn Fisher, a senior at Cal Poly-San Luis
Obispo, is the recipient of the 2020
Michael L. Condon
Civil Engineering
Scholarship in the
amount of $5,000.
The Condon Fund
was established in
2015 with an initial
donation by Condon-Johnson and
Associates, in memory of Michael L.
Condon, a leader in the deep foundations
industry. Scholarships benefit civil
engineering students attending the
following schools: Cal Poly-San Luis
Obispo, Cal Poly-Pomona, San Diego State
University, Santa Clara University,
University of California, Davis, Oregon
State University, Washington State
University, Montana Tech, University of
Colorado Boulder, and Virginia Tech.

Professional Grants Announced
The Trust has awarded five Women in Deep
F o u n d a t i o n s ( Wi D F ) P ro f e s s i o n a l
Development Grants of $1,750 each to
women working in the deep foundations
industry to attend the next in-person DFI
Annual Conference. The grant includes
complimentary conference registration
and covers related expenses for attending
the conference. The grants will be
presented during the DFI 45th Annual
Conference, an online conference, October
27-30, 2020.
The recipients are:

The WiDF Committee is comprised of
women and men who are advocates for
retaining women in the deep foundations
industry. The goal of the committee is to
foster greater success and interest of professional women in the industry by promoting
networking events, endorsing outreach and
building mentoring relationships.

The Trust also awarded $500 from the Paul
DeBruyn Memorial Student Scholarship
Fund to Fernanda Bezerra Tomaduci
Imamura, a Ph.D. student, University of
Alberta, to defray costs of attending the
2020 Annual Conference.

2020 Fundraising Events
Unfortunately, the Trust board has decided to cancel all three golf outings -
Pennsylvania in July, New Jersey in August and California in September. A feeling of
uncertainty remained about being able to maintain appropriate physical distancing
during the post-golf banquets, a traditional time of camaraderie and networking.
Consider donating as you usually would when participating in Trust fundraisers so
that scholarship funds continue to grow.
The 2020 Gala Dinner is not being held and will resume in the fall of 2021. Please
