The NGT also executed contracts for two geotechnical engineering circulars (GEC), which are: * GEC-1 - a geotechnical basics course that updates content from the Soils and Foundations Workshop and the LRFD for Substructures reference manuals. * GEC-15 - a procedural guideline on acceptance procedures for structural foundation construction. NHI Training Development and Delivery The NGT is currently updating several older NHI geotechnical courses for content as well as look and feel. The NGT is identifying alternate platforms for the delivery of content and is evaluating a variety of methods for disseminating information for DOTs. NHI is currently updating 13 instructor-led training courses. They have set ambitious goals to pilot all the courses in 2020 and have them ready for delivery in early 2021. The courses being updated are: * NHI 132013A: Geosynthetics Engineering Workshop * NHI 132014: Drilled Shafts: Construction Methods and Design Procedures * NHI 132021: Design and Construction of Driven Piles * NHI 132031: Geotechnical Site Characterization * NHI 132033: Soil Slope and Embankment Design and Construction * NHI 132035: Rock Slopes * NHI 132036: Earth Retaining Structures * NHI 132040: Geotechnical Aspects of Pavements * NHI 132078: Micropile Design and Construction * NHI 132085: Soil Nail Walls * NHI 132094: Seismic Analysis and Design of Transportation Structures, Features, and Foundations * NHI 132094A: Seismic Analysis and Design of Transportation Geotechnical Features * NHI 132094B: Seismic Analysis and Design of Transportation Structural Foundations and Earth Retaining Structures DFI offers NHI courses for private and public organizations for groups of 20 - 40 people.
