Technology " during the third webinar session. Jewels Stover of

presentation on negotiations.

WiDF India
The U.S. activities of the DFI Women in Deep Foundations
(WiDF) Committee have spread and taken root in India
because of the continuous effort by Lucky Nagarajan of Giken
America. The strong WiDF group in India held its first online
discussion for more than 150 on December 22, 2020.

Roychowdhury of G-Cube Consulting Engineers presented a
panel discussion on " Bridging Academia and Practice. "

DFI of India Initiatives
Major developments are happening in two initiatives:
continuous flight auger (CFA) pile implementation in India
and the geotechnical investigation training program.
Momentum is building around implementing CFA pile
technology in India's heavy industry projects, with the right
collaboration sought between consultants, specialist
contractors, equipment manufacturers and DFI of India. A big
thank you to the CFA Technology Implementation
Committee led by Sunil Basarkar, Ph.D., for moving this

The Geotechnical Characterisation for Foundation
Committee of DFII is set to begin a brief refresher training for
geotechnical laboratory technicians. The National Academy
of Construction (NAC) at Hyderabad will soon set up an
accredited geotechnical testing laboratory in its facility. We
expect the first technicians to attend the training program in
April 2021.
