from American Geotechnical and Environmental
Services presented in a
webinar for the Pennsylvania Department
of Transportation (PennDOT)
2021 Project Delivery Workshop, with
more than 500 attendees. Similarly in
March, they presented virtually for the
New Jersey chapter of the American
Council of Engineering Companies
(ACEC). Their presentation highlighted
DFI's leading role in this industry,
including development of consensus
guidelines and training manuals, and
influence on design manuals and
construction practices.
Houston-Based JD Fields & Company
has expanded and become The Fields
Companies with six new subsidiary
businesses. After serving for 35-plus
years as an international supplier and
distributor of API line pipe in essential
oil and gas and piling systems, the
company is expanding beyond the steel
industry, bringing JD Fields together
with the following deep foundationrelated
subsidiaries: Alameda Pipe &
Fab, a steel piling company purchased in
May 2020 that specializes in foundation
projects for the oil and gas and marine
industries, and allowed a vertical move
into steel manufacturing with the ability
to distribute its own niche steel
products; JDF Equipment, a forerunner
in foundation equipment service and
sales of vibratory and impact pile
hammers; and JDF-HDM Spiralweld, a
joint venture with Turkish steel manufacturer
HDM Tubes, announced early
this year that they will produce tubular
products for transportation, marine and
infrastructure foundation projects along
with related specialty structural steel.
JDF-HDM Spiralweld will operate out of
a facility expected to break ground in
East Houston later this year.
Samuel Roll Form Group, a division of
Samuel, Son & Co., has unveiled an
online quoting tool for its rental piling
customers. This online project estimator
provides an estimated rental cost (less
freight) after answering a few simple
questions. The instant quote allows
