New Trustee
DFI Educational
Trust recently appointed
Jim Glider
of Malcolm Drilling Company to the
Board of Trustees. He is serving as a
trustee for the period January 1, 2023 -
December 31, 2024.
Glider is a senior project manager
for Malcolm Drilling based out of the
Wisconsin office. His primary focus at
the company is bidding and managing
projects throughout the Midwest and
Eastern regions. In the 7 years he has
been with Malcolm, he has overseen
notable projects including BMO Harris
Tower in Milwaukee; Gordie Howe
International Bridge in Detroit;
Madawaska International Bridge in
Madawaska, Maine; and the Blue
Origin Launch Complex 36 in Cape
Canaveral, Florida.

Glider has worked in the specialty
contracting industry, specifically
focused on geotechnical construction,
since 2016. Before that he worked in the
heavy civil/bridge industry. He earned
hi s bache l or ' s degree in c i v i l
engineering from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison.
His strong interpersonal skills and
positive attitude are great assets for the
Trust board. We look forward to all of
the good work he will do as a part of
Trust leadership to encourage and
suppor t students studying and
planning to be part of the deep
foundations industry.

at the Royal Sonesta's Riverside Terrace
on Tuesday, August 8, from 5:30 - 7:00
p.m. This fundraiser is always a great
way to start the S3: Slopes, Support and
Stabi l izat ion conference. Enjoy
stunning views of the Boston Skyline
and a cocktail reception with a
premium open bar and hors d' oeuvres
while supporting the Women in Deep
Foundations Fund.

Pennsylvania Golf Outing -
Registration is open for the 18th
Pennsylvania Golf Outing being held on
Monday, July 24, at Montour Heights
Country Club in Pittsburgh.
The fun starts at 9 a.m., with a
shotgun start at 10:30 a.m., cocktails at
4:00 p.m. and dinner at 5:00 p.m.
Proceeds from the event benefit the
DFI Educational Trust 's student
scholarship funds at Penn State
University and University of Pittsburgh.
