mixtures containing aggregate, the micropile and ground anchor industry has found it to be less flowable than a Type I/II grout when using the same water to cement ratio. It also appears to affect bond strength to both steel reinforcement and soil. This exciting research will provide some preliminary answers and will likely lead to more study of its use in micropiles. The Micropile Committee is always on the lookout for potential research opportunities that can utilize funding through the DFI Committee Project Fund (CPF). Proposals for the CPF are due by December 1, and must receive committee endorsement, so time is running out!
