Help Be the Backbone of DFI
DFI is a preeminent membership association within the deep foundations industry
and I'm proud of how it has evolved. It is primarily due to the commitment and
collaboration of our members that we continue to advance research, explore new
opportunities and build a wider professional network. Becoming a member of DFI is
only the first step to being a part of this success. Truly engaged members, who access
the multitude of benefits that are provided by DFI, take part in our communities.
We always call our Communities (the technical committees, event organizing
and program committees, regional
chapters, task forces, working groups,
user groups, and industry alliances) the
backbone of DFI. That's because they
are! We have more than 13 percent of
our members engaged and involved in
providing pract ical informat ion
through many forums. Our tagline is
Finding Common Ground® because,
since formation, DFI has always aimed
to bring everyone into the conversation
on an equal playing field, allowing
them to learn from each other plus
identify, discuss and address issues that
impact deep foundations practice.
As an engaged member, you help
create consensus and a common vision
to continually advance the industry.
With more than 25 technical committees,
there is something for everyone.

members can also engage by volunteering to serve on an organizing committee for
one of DFI's many events. I'm sure you realize these events don't come together on
their own. They require a joint effort by DFI staff and member volunteers. Each committee
has many roles to fill so there are many things to choose from such as helping
to develop a call for abstracts, monitoring and reviewing papers, moderating sessions
at events, helping to find new exhibitors and sponsors, introducing new ideas and
activities, connecting DFI with students and professionals in the field, and more!

To members who have been serving on our committees, we thank you for your
