Rubicon's Interim CEO to Take Over Permanently
After nearly 14 months as the interim chief executive officer,
chief financial officer and director of Rubicon Organics,
Margaret Brodie is now the permanent CEO.
Also, Janis Risbin, who joined the Vancouver, British ColumMargaret

marijuana company in 2019 as vice president of
finance, was promoted to chief financial officer and corporate
secretary.
Brodie, who became interim CEO on Jan. 1, 2023, joined the
company as chief financial officer upon its founding in June
2015. Before Rubicon, Brodie spent almost 14 years as chief
financial officer and director at Plata Latina Minerals Corp. and
almost 10 years in senior managerial posts at global accounting and financial consulting firm KPMG.
Before entering the cannabis industry, Risbin spent more than six years in senior financial roles
with Britvic PLC, a British soft drink company, and more than eight years in senior financial posts
with Procter & Gamble.

the expansion of Cresco Labs'
house of brands and steered
creation and expansion of the
Sunnyside retail network to
more than 70 stores.

will oversee all aspects

large brands for Fortune 500
companies and smaller private
businesses. Before joining
Cresco Labs, he was operational
partner at design firm Minimal,
overseeing the company's
creative capital accelerator.
He also worked at MillerCoors,
where he led the Miller family
of brands.
Hart Replaces Vita
as CEO at The Cannabist
The Cannabist Co. promoted
David Hart to CEO and Jesse
Channon to president earlier
this year.
Hart, who served as president
and chief operating officer,
replaces Nick Vita, who
co-founded the New York-based
multistate operator in 2012. Vita
is retiring, according to a news
release, but will retain his role
on the board of directors.

in the regulated marijuana
industry, Vita helped grow
The Cannabist Co. to thousands
of employees and more than
$500 million in annual sales in
16 vertically integrated markets
across the United States. In
September, he led a rebranding
effort of the MSO formerly
known as Columbia Care.
Hart joined the company
in 2016 and was promoted to
COO in 2018. He added the title
of president in 2023. Before
joining the company, he served
as COO of Abyrx, a venture
capital-backed medical device
company.
Channon joined The Cannabist
Co. in December 2019 as chief
growth officer and most recently
served as chief commercial
officer.
