For multistate operator Ascend Wellness Holdings, which operates plant-touching assets in six
states in the Northeast and Midwest, the company capitalized on the opportunity give the brand a
facelift when it expanded into Massachusetts.
" Ascend's Boston location was a complete revamp of the brand and pushed the boundaries of
dispensary design, while staying within the regulations, " says Frank Perullo, interim co-CEO,
president and co-founder at Ascend Wellness Holdings. " The location was designed to enhance the
consumer experience, with an entirely new second floor that immerses guests and encourages them
to not just shop but also learn about cannabis. "
OFFERING MORE THAN QUALITY CANNABIS
Successful retail brands have developed and implemented operational strategies to offer
customers more than just quality cannabis products to improve retention and brand loyalty.
According to the experts, classes, wellness seminars, health-focused workshops and participating
in local fundraising events are some of the ways that businesses can go beyond selling cannabis
and establish the brand within the community.
