Cannabis know-how shines at The Emerald Conference
T
he finest minds in marijuana
science gathered April 1-3
in San Diego for the ninth
annual Emerald Conference to
share breakthroughs, innovation
and research that will chart the
course forward in the cannabis and
psychedelics industries.
The Emerald Conference is the
longest-running interdisciplinary
cannabis science and psychedelics
science event in the United States.
With the potential rescheduling
of marijuana to Schedule 3 of the
Controlled Substances Act-a category
reserved for drugs with " currently
accepted medical use in treatment " -
this year's conference was even more
timely and meaningful.
The Emerald Conference featured
more than 20 educational sessions,
25-plus industry-leading speakers and
more than 25 technical posters and
presenters. Hundreds of attendees
from the U.S. and abroad joined the
conference, including analytical testing
laboratory owners and scientists,
professionals from the cultivation,
extraction and production realms,
principal investigators, formulations
scientists, geneticists, policymakers
and more.
Key areas of interest in this year's
conference schedule included:
* Cultivation science: cannabis
genetics, biology, physiology and
agronomy.
* Analytical testing solutions and
extraction methods for cannabis.
* Pre-clinical/clinical research, cannabis
formulations, fill/finish and
patient care.
* The science of psychedelicsassisted
therapy.
